Does losing weight through hypnosis even work?
I really wanted to start losing weight with hypnosis. Does it even work? What are the best hyponis tapes to lose weight for teenagers? The only one I've heard of is Think and Lose, does that work? Is there a better hypnosis tape than this?

  1. I really learned a lot from the hypnosis downloads free online course. You do have to sign up for a newsletter with your email address but hey at least its free.   3. Hypnosis can help with self-confidence. I’m not so sure about all of the subconscious mumbo-jumbo. However, I do believe in hypnosis for self confidence. A lack of self confidence is something that is learned over time. Hypnosis can help reverse these learnings and install a new self-image. :wink:

  4. I'm a Certified Hypnotist… Even if you trusted your friend to do the right thing, would you want her to learn about plastic surgery from free online sights so that she could practice on you? I'm not saying that hypnosis is that dangerous but I am trying to put it into some kind of perspective. Hypnosis can be quite beneficial in dealing with phobias but honestly your friend would be better served but seeing an experienced specialist. I know you may have the absolute best intentions but you could do more damage than good with out the proper experience.

  6. You have touched upon several common fears/misconceptions about hypnosis. Let me address each of these separately:

    1) Can one wrong word (or a negative suggestion) screw you up for life/cause you harm? — No. Because all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, you cannot be made to do anything you don't want to. In addition, positive statements have more power than negative ones (this is why years of negative self-talk can be overcome by one or two hypnosis sessions). If your conscious mind says "oops! that last suggestions was a misktake — that's not what I meant", that's more than enough to break the previous "negative" suggestion.

    2) If someone scares you while you're hypnotized, you wake up. Period. If you are in a deep hypnotic trance and you fall asleep — or your hypnotherapist drops dead of a heart attack, heaven forbid! — you wake up.

    A face to face one can last from 20 mins to hour, hour half, depends on the work being done.

    You will find that with a CD that it, as with all hypnosis, will be a series of relaxation stages & even in face to face therapy clients can drift off.

    As long as your not doing anything that requires your attention you will be fine.

  8. I've been involved in hypnosis since the 1990s and I have been trained by one of the best in the world. Here's my view:

    The download that you purchased, if it is any good, should guide you into a trance. There is nothing special you need to do. You clearly have the desire to change, and you've taken action by opening your wallet to buy something to help. Just listen to the CD / MP3 often, I would say a few times per week. More than once per day is unnecessary.

    In addition, I highly suggest learning some NLP techniques to help you enter a positive state "on demand". This can be done on your own, without trance, and has instant results.

    The Peak Performance CD by Mike Mandel is outstanding, but is simply ONE suggestion. Otherwise, you can buy books on the topic of NLP from Amazon, etc.
