Lose Your Weight with Meditation

This is an exercise to go through your entire body and as you relax different parts of your body ask that part of your body if it agrees with your decision to lose weight. When you get all parts of your body working together, your weight loss will be easier.

Focus your attention on your scalp and your forehead and relax them completely. In this relaxed state ask your scalp and your forehead if it’s okay, if it agrees with your decision to decrease your weight. And listen to the answer.

Now just allow your eyes to relax. And as you become soft and warm and relaxed, ask your eyes if it is all right with them for you to weigh less. And listen to the answer.

Now as your nose and cheeks relax, ask that part of your body if it’s okay, if it feels comfortable, for you to release your weight. And listen to the answer.

As your mouth relaxes, your teeth part and your jaw is relaxed, ask your mouth if it is okay to release some weight.

Now your chin becomes soft and relaxed. Ask your chin if it is comfortable, if it is okay, if it is in agreement for you to release your excess weight and listen to the answer.

Now your neck: as the muscles of your neck relax, and yet gently balance your head, ask the muscles of your neck if it’s okay, if it’s agreeable for you to lighten up, to release your weight, to let it go.

Now begin to relax your arms, feel the relaxation going deep, deep into your shoulders and down your upper arms. Ask this part of your body, your shoulders and your upper arms if it’s agreeable for you to let go of your weight, to lighten up and listen to the answer.

Now your elbows, your forearms and your hands. Allow this part of your body to become gently relaxed and comfortably supported. In this relaxed state, ask your arms if it’s agreeable, if it’s acceptable, will it work out for your arms if you were to lighten up and lose weight.

Now your back. As you relax and feel the gentle support of your chair on your back, softly ask your back, “Is it okay for me to release my excess weight?” Is your back agreeable to this? And listen to the answer.

Now to your chest. As you gently breathe in and out, filling your lungs with air, allow your chest to relax and ask your chest, is it in agreement with you, will it work for you, is it acceptable to release your weight? And listen for the answer.

Now your abdomen, allow your abdomen to become soft, to tune in to your gentle breathing and ask your abdomen, “Is it okay with you if I release my weight, if I let it go?” Listen for the answer.

Now your hips. As your hips become soft and relaxed, ask your hips if it is okay for you to let go of extra weight. Would that work for your hips? And listen to the answer.

Now your thighs. Allow your thighs to become soft and relaxed and feel that relaxation deep, deep into your thighs. As you relax your thighs, ask them, “Is it okay, does this work for you, for me to release weight?” And listen to the answer.

Now your knees. Allow your knees to become soft and relaxed and ask your knees, “Is this okay, will it work for you if I lighten up and release some weight?” Listen to the answer.

Now your calves and ankles. As they become soft and relaxed just ask your calves and ankles, “Is it okay if I release my weight?” Listen to the answer.

Now your feet. Allow your feet and toes to become soft and gently relaxed and ask your feet and toes, “Is this acceptable to you, that I release my weight. Will this work for you, will this benefit you, will this help you in any way?” And listen to the answer.

Now ask your bones, your bones that hold together and support this whole system, ask your bones, your whole skeletal system, is it okay if you release your weight? Listen to the answer.

Now ask your digestive tract, your throat, your esophagus, your stomach and your intestines if it is acceptable for these parts of your body for you to release their weight. Listen to the answer.

Now your vascular system: Your heart, your arteries, your veins. Ask your vascular system, “Is this agreeable to you, will this work for you, if I release my extra weight?” And listen for the answer.

Now, ask your kidneys and bladder, “Is it acceptable to you to that I lose some weight?” And listen for the answer.

Now ask your endocrine system, the system that is responsible for a lot of the activities in your body regulating and balancing: Your thyroid, your pancreas, all the different hormones throughout your body. Ask your endocrine system if it is acceptable and agreeable for you to release your weight and listen for the answer.

Now ask your nervous system: Your brain, your spinal column, all the nerves, “Is it agreeable to you for me to release this weight, to lighten up?” Listen to the answer.

Now get in the touch with your highest and best self, where your wisdom and intuition reside and ask your highest and best self, “Is this acceptable to you, is it acceptable to release this weight, to lighten up, to just let go?” And listen to the answer.

Now gather all of your answers and come up with one big answer, something that’s totally congruent, something that’s acceptable, something that rings throughout your entire body, your soul and your spirit. Is it acceptable to your entire body for you to release your weight, to let it go, to lighten up? And listen to your answer.

Imagine now all these different parts of you, especially the parts that have affirmed that this is the right thing for you to do. Imagine them all singing in a beautiful chorus, affirming to you-all of you-that this is acceptable, that this is beneficial to every part of you. Let that chorus sing in one voice and one note that this is what you want. If any part of you says it is not acceptable, let that part be muted for this moment and listen to your entire body singing loudly in one note that this is acceptable, that this is good for you to release your weight. Now just imagine, with all this congruence, with all this acceptability, with all these parts of your body in harmony and agreement, imagine your body, your lightened up body, your body that has released the weight that it needs to release to be this functional, comfortable person you choose to be.

Now all parts of you and all systems of you are ready to go and move toward this goal that you want to create and build, this wonderful compact, efficient and healthy body.
